Workshop

Would you like to take part in the 14'th edition of the Lights in Alingsås workshop? Then it is time to register. The workshop takes place between September .21 - .28, 2013.
The Lights in Alingsås event begins with a workshop one week before the event opens to the public. This is when seven international lighting designers gathers with some sixty students from all over the world to illuminate selected sites or buildings in the city of Alingsås. Student electricians from the local high school are also involved in the workshop project by assisting the workshop participants throughout the whole week.
This year, the workshop starts with a two-day session of seminars held by lighting designers, university professors and other people of interest. The purpose is to bring in more theory in the workshop process. The students, who often study within areas of architecture and design, find the workshop week to be an important part of their education, as they get the opportunity to work sharp and in full scale, with plenty of resources and with world leading experts as instructors. This year, the workshop participants will also be offered the opportunity to take part in event lighting, whereas one of the seven installations will be the ceremony of the grand opening.
